I absolutely loved every element of my stay within the Shepherd's hut. We had 360 of stunning views and peaceful surroundings. The hut itself was incredibly clean, great facilities and some extra caring items (water bottles, power banks, games, area guides). While the accommodation was fantastic, its the staff who made this stay for us. We were made to feel welcome on arrival, issues were quickly rectified and most importantly I felt safe. I would highly recommend a stay here. Its a great experience and one i'll be returning back to.
Really enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and spacious with a great view. Location is good depending on your wants and needs. Lots of history in this area, which makes for great hiking. Staff were great, kind and helpful. Food was slightly basic but fine, as there isn't much in the town. We would definitely stay again.
Great location, lovely staff, solid tasty food if slightly pricey. Solid breakfast with all options available as a buffet style. They also have two EV chargers at 50p/pKw. Would definitely stay again. They even let us secure our bike in the boot room over night. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Nice touch the welcome note one the bed
From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was friendly, polite, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location and excellent value for the price. We were delighted to be upgraded to a super king room, which was absolutely stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and offering an amazing view that made our stay even more special. Everything about this hotel was perfect, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. We would love to stay here again and can’t wait for another visit!
Stayed for a birthday trip, the room was fantastic with the most amazing view. Walking distance to Zip World Llechwedd makes for a fun daytime activity. The food at the restaurant was nice and reasonably priced. Only negative was the car park was very icey and could had done with being gritted on a snowy day, however the beautiful snow lined view made up for this
We stayed in the glamping huts, safari style tent roof but very much luxury and lovely interior. The setting was stunning and it had such a calm surroundings. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the hotel serves wonderful hearty food. Would highly recommend for families or dog owners.
In 2023, we walked down from the Glamping Tents, further up the road, as we had been reliably informed that the restaurant served excellent food. Although we weren't guests at the Plas Weunydd, the staff were amazingly generous with their time helping us select items from the menu. My wife has celiac and they had a number of menu options which were gluten free. She ordered a pizza and we were in agreement that it was the best gluten free pizza base we had ever witnessed. The rest of the food was just as good and made us wish we had stayed there just to see what breakfast would have been like. Also, my wife wanted to paint our dining room the same colour as the restaurant.
We stayed here for one night last minute on an extended stay. We had a baby, a toddler and two large dogs. The staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and relaxed, even though our tired two year old was “playing up”. Really enjoyed the food and sitting out on the terrace and the breakfast was great too. Hotel generally and room was very clean as well Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
